This cucumber basil martini is a light, refreshing drink with muddles cucumber and basil and a hint of lime, perfect for summer!
I started a garden this spring and it’s been so exciting. My cucumbers were doing fantastic up until mid June, I think they may have either gotten too much sun or had too much water from the nonstop rainy days here in Louisiana each summer. I think its a combination of the two because it is brutally hot and humid here!
However, I did get to harvest about 5-6 cucumbers before all of the plants died and let me tell you they were fantastic! I was able to use the cucumbers and basil from my garden to make this drink which makes it so much more special!
Basil
I have two types of basil in my garden right now: sweet basil and Thai basil. I have to say I much prefer the sweet basil because the Thai basil takes more like licorice than actual basil to me! The sweet basil brings the PERFECT amount of sweetness to this drink that you don’t even need to add any simple syrup or agave!
